REGISTRATION FOR THE 23-24 SEASON IS NOW CLOSED
**SPACE IS LIMITED**
Hello FSMH families,
This is a very exciting time of the year, plans have already begun for the 23-24 season, and we are getting ready to open registration on June 15, 2023!!
If you did not make it to our AGM, let me share a few exciting announcements for the 2023-24 season:
- Late in the 2022-23 season FSMH announced that we hired a Technical Coordinator – Brett Cox. What does this mean for FSMH? Well, Brett will be creating some coaching resources for our coaches helping with season plans, player development and coach development. Brett is already working on some camps for this summer and during our regular season.
- This season we introduced our new Ice allocation Policy that clearly defines and communicates how ice will be managed, allocated and distributed in FSMH helping us to accomplish fair distribution of desirable and undesirable ice times. The full policy can be found here - ICE ALLOCATION POLICY
- We have updated our fundraising policy. Because of some factors including the renovations at the JRC and the closing of the concession we have eliminated the credit system. This season each player will have a $50.00 fundraising bond per player added to their registration. Players are eligible for a refund of the fundraising bond for every dollar sold of FSMH Association raffle tickets up to a maximum of $50.00. Raffle tickets will be sold online using RaffleBox starting in October. FSMH will hold a minimum of three raffles between Oct 1st and March 1st for you to qualify for your refund. When you purchase or sell association raffle tickets just make sure your player’s name is selected in the dropdown list titled “in support of” to have them counted towards your refund.
- New this season – FSMH has retired all of our U9-U18 practice jerseys. To ensure each player receives a fresh, clean and well-fitted practice jersey for the season we will be adding the cost of the practice jersey to your registration installments. The team’s practice jerseys will be ordered by the Head Coach once the team is formed (Order forms will be provided to the head coach after team formation). This practice jersey will belong to your player and will not need to be returned to FSMH at the end of the season.
- Evaluations – FSMH has teamed up with new 3rd party independent, neutral, unbiased evaluators and experienced team formation specialists to accomplish fair, transparent and accurate team selections. Each player participating in the Ranger’s tiered hockey tryouts this season will be evaluated over a minimum of 4 skates (1 skills session and 3 scrimmage games). There will be no time trials for U9-U18 this season. Once the minimum 4 evaluation skates are complete your player will be placed on the team that best fits their skill level and will set them up for a successful season of fun and development. More information and dates will be posted and sent out closer to the start of evaluations.
- Fees – For a couple of years now FSMH has been able to avoid raising our fees and we are very thankful to our sponsors and member fundraising to help us accomplish that. This year we are very happy to report we will once again not be raising our registration fees. We are accepting 6-month equal payment plans again this season for registration. KidSport will be accepting applications starting June 15th for the Oil Country Hockey Assist program - CLICK HERE FOR KIDSPORT INFORMATION
- Team pictures - FSMH will again be providing each player with a team photo included in registration. More information will come out closer to October.
- Coaching and team staff – if you are interested in taking on a Head Coach or Assistant Coach position for the 23-24 season head to our website and register as an interested volunteer starting June 15th.
- Conditioning Camp information and registration will be posted on our website before the end of June stay tuned.
Registration will open on June 15th, 2023 at 9:00 AM and are accepted on a first come first serve basis with a maximum amount of registrations accepted in each division.
