NEWS AND UPDATES FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON
Hello FSMH families,
We are excited to announce that plans for the 2025-26 season are underway, and registration will open on June 15, 2025, at 9:00 AM. This season's registration will occur in stages, so please refer to the registration dates for more details.
Here are some exciting announcements for the 2025-26 season:
-
TIER TEAMS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - We will continue our in-season development program for all community (EFHL) hockey teams. Each team will receive a minimum of five sessions with a professional development instructor throughout the season.
-
RAC TEAMS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – The Rangers Athletic Club has established development standards for each head coach to meet based on elite development expectations. These standards will be accommodated within the team's budget and cash calls.
-
FSMH FUNDRAISING BOND - A $50 fundraising bond will be included in each player's registration fee. Players can receive a refund of the fundraising bond for each dollar sold of FSMH Association raffle tickets, up to a maximum of $50. Raffle tickets will be sold online through RaffleBox starting in October. FSMH will conduct a minimum of three raffles between October 1 and March 1 for players to qualify for refunds. When purchasing or selling tickets, ensure your player’s name is selected in the dropdown list titled “in support of” to count toward your refund eligibility.
-
TIER TEAM EVALUATIONS - FSMH will partner with Sports Evaluations, an independent and unbiased evaluator and team formation specialist, to ensure fair and accurate team selections. Each player participating in the Ranger’s tiered hockey tryouts will be evaluated over a minimum of four skates (one skills session and three scrimmage games). There will be no time trials for U9-U18 this season. After completing the minimum four evaluation skates, players will be placed on the team that best matches their skill level to ensure a successful and enjoyable season. Further details and dates will be announced closer to the evaluation period.
-
NON-CONTACT TIER HOCKEY - FSMH will host Rangers non-contact hockey for both U15 and U18 divisions, with registration on a first-come, first-serve basis. If these teams do not fill exclusively with non-contact participants, the contact division will hold evaluations, and players not selected for contact hockey will be placed on the non-contact teams.
