George Pietersma-2025 Scholarship-LACHLAN KIRKEY

Fort Saskatchewan Minor Hockey is proud to announce that the recipient of the 2025 George Pietersma Scholarship is Lachlan Kirkey.
The George Pietersma Scholarship is awarded annually to a U18-aged Fury or Ranger player who best exemplifies a commitment to volunteerism in the community. Lachlan has distinguished himself through exceptional service, leadership, and dedication both on and off the ice.
Lachlan’s community involvement includes volunteering with FSMH to assist younger goalies in their development, supporting U11AA and U13AA teams during tryouts, and coaching as an assistant for a U11 lacrosse team. His passion for mentoring young athletes and giving back to the community truly embodies the spirit of this award. Lachlan’s sincere love for working with kids, as expressed in his thoughtful volunteer essay, further demonstrates his outstanding character and leadership qualities.
In addition to his volunteerism, Lachlan is a strong academic performer at Vimy Ridge Academy, balancing the demands of elite-level hockey with his educational and community commitments.
We congratulate Lachlan Kirkey on earning this honor and thank him for the positive impact he continues to have within our association and the broader community. His leadership and dedication set an incredible example for the next generation of athletes.
Congratulations, Lachlan!
